The drama surrounding Vitriol is far from over, especially following the notorious incident where the band’s lead singer, Kyle Rasmussen, his girlfriend, and their dog were left behind in New York during a tour. This shocking abandonment, which has made headlines, was not merely a spontaneous decision but rather the result of escalating tensions among the band stemming from the challenges of touring and conflicting personalities. Rasmussen later revealed that this mass departure by his bandmates, which left him stranded across the country from his home in Oregon, was a breaking point fueled by both the pressures of life on the road and excessive drug use — what he colorfully referred to as ‘nose beers.’
In the wake of this turmoil, with uncertainty clouding the future of Vitriol, Rasmussen took an unconventional route to ensure his return home by launching a crowdfunding campaign. To his surprise, supporters rallied around him, helping him raise over $10,000 to facilitate his journey back after being abandoned mid-tour.
On December 22, Vitriol shared an update confirming that, despite these recent upheavals, Rasmussen is committed to honoring the band’s previously scheduled support role on an upcoming European tour alongside bands like Bölzer, The Ruins Of Beverast, Misþyrming, and Trepaneringsritualen. However, who will accompany him on this venture remains uncertain. In his announcement, he expressed gratitude to those who continue to stand by him:
"I am pleased to announce that, even in light of recent events, Vitriol will still be supporting the mighty @bolzerband alongside @misthyrming, @theruinsofbeverast, and @trp__ across Europe this upcoming February. Thank you to those who continue to show their support."
